London Housing

There are many different things to consider when reviewing London housing options. While at first it my seem quite daunting, finding the right area to live is something that you should allow yourself some time to spend researching, as where you live will largely contribute to your enjoyment of the city.

London Housing: The best area for you?

London is a large city with a number of different districts that have their own feel & attractions.  I have found Movebubble.com a great resource that provides current information on different areas around London. Their site also provides a great deal of information on renting London Houses. To get a good overview of areas in London read their blog here

London Housing: Public Transport / The night tube

When choosing where to live, extra consideration should be given to a property’s links to public transport. In particular areas that are close to Tube Stations that will be situated on London’ night tube services.

The first Night Tube services will launch on the Central and Victoria lines on 19 August, with services on the Jubilee, Northern and Piccadilly lines following in autumn. The Night Tube supports London’s 24-hour lifestyle by offering a round-the-clock service on Fridays and Saturdays, on five lines: the Jubilee, Victoria, and most of the Central, Northern and Piccadilly lines. London Housing: Trialing an area

When you think you’ve found an area you like, look to see if you can find a short term lease or hire a room through a service such as airbnb. Whilst this may cost you a little more it will give you the opportunity to see if you really do like the area before making a long term commitment. Another benefit is that if properties do come available in the area you won’t have to travel as far to go for a viewing.

London Housing: Facilities & services

If like most Londoners you don’t have a car there might be a few additional things you need to think about when you’re choosing your house. Be sure to check the area surrounding your home for important facilities such as grocery and convenience stores, cafes, bars & restaurants. It’ll making popping out to pick up things for dinner that much easier!
